ElectroChew started with a bad case of food poisoning.

Our co-founder, Cary, became severely ill with food poisoning. He was so dehydrated that his doctor told him he needed electrolytes, but every attempt to drink water or an electrolyte beverage only made his nausea worse.

Looking for anything that might calm his stomach, Cary discovered that chewing gum had been shown to help reduce nausea. In that moment, a simple idea sparked:

What if the electrolytes were in the gum instead?

That single question became the foundation of ElectroChew.

He called Konnor, his co-founder and a health science major, that same day. They brought the idea to a chemist at their university and built a formula that absorbs through the oral mucosa, working faster than any drink on the market.
